On December 5th, 2007, the Moldova Foundation co-hosted with OSI-Brussels an informal meeting to discuss the Transnistrian conflict. A group of international and Moldovan experts gathered for a brainstorming meeting in Brussels together with EU officials. Specifically, the discussion focused on the EU role in the Transnistrian conflict settlement. The participants identified actions and projects the EU could undertake in the short and medium term in order to advance the settlement of the Transnistria conflict, including on how to make Moldova attractive to the Transnistrian population, how to democratize the Transnistria region, what kind of security is needed.
